Having trained all my life and having been exposed to the top level scientific advances in sport I can honestly say that the one thing I wish I had doing earlier was Pilates with Pete and Harry. My Pilates was a shock to the system on how to carry the body and how it is all connected even with my experiences. I was amazed at how effective a session could be and the learnings that you can take instantly from it over how your body works. I never thought holding a ball in between my legs could be so tough! These guys are certainly people that I will continue to work with and appreciate the skills they provide in such a simple and understanding way. It would be an incredible asset for the normal person all the way up to and including the ultra high performing athletes. Never have I bought in to something so positively in the physical conditioning world like this. Certainly myPilates london is not to be missed by anyone!!

Turning up physically and mentally on game day, training day, wedding day, photo day or any day and event will be determined by your preparation. Peak or consistent performance levels are difficult to maintain if your lifestyle and physical condition is out of balance. After more than 20 years as a trainer with elite and amateur sport I have covered most training disciplines.

In the sport of Rugby League it is imperative to have a sound balance of mental and physical quality. Weight training, wrestling, tackle technique, sprinting and lactate threshold conditioning are necessities for successful competitiveness.

Through Pete’s guidance I have been able to ensure my men and athletes are strong and athletic from the inside out. Pete’s Pilates tutorage has restimulated and increased my athletes physical prowess and in effect created a safeguard against anatomical imbalance and weak core strength. These are essential elements to contain when relying on explosive power and strength endurance to compete and train regularly. Pilates gives me a confidence to know the men are strong at the start of the movement, strong through the movement and strong at completion. This enhances and amplifies simple tasks into effective action. My athletes will enjoy a very increased longevity in the sport from the benefits of the myPilates london training regime.

I have had the pleasure of training with Pete and both of us are well aware of our years of outrageous volume and intensity, thank god Pete got onto Pilates! He has increased my worth professionally to my team and given me a refreshing and exciting new training format for myself.

If I could make the luxury I would have myPilates london follow me around on the WTA circuit. Until sessions with Pete around the Wimbledon Championships I thought I knew everything about what is Pilates.  The tennis circuit is tough physically but this reformer work was not only dealing with strains  and injuries but also helped to strengthen my weaknesses before the tournament. Shoulder mobility is a big one, balance and rotation through service, constant twisting and turns on court. The effect is quick and I have felt my balance and co ordination improve a lot! Pete and his team understand my specific needs and the dynamic patterns involved in my sport. myPilates london is now a regular stop for my visits to the UK and I cannot recommend them highly enough! Pete’s competition background gives me confidence that he understands how to perform at a high standard  and to keep performance levels.

As an athlete I have come to see this as a core and essential part of my training regime. Pete is able to bring a number of elements to bear: 
Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology for sports, so he can tailor Pilates activity to facilitate particular functional goals. His personal background and achievements in sport means he understands the psychology of where you are mentally, what your challenges might be and knows how and when to push you on or to encourage you to ease back. He understands that some times you need to ease of the pedal and is really happy to adjust every session to suit your mood and also where you are in your training or competition cycle.


He has helped me to understand that being serious and driven all the time can be balanced really well with just playing and having fun, he has helped me to get the psychology right pre-race, takes honest feedback on what’s working and not working for me really well and adjusts his approach quickly and easily accordingly, Creative in coming up with new activities, with limitations due to a number of injuries, is able to respond and adjust to compensate / work around in a very positive and motivating way – instead of allowing you to dwell or focus on what you can’t do, he continually looks at what you can do and how.
